Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to all.

I just wanted to drop by to wish you a very happy MLK Day! I'm sharing a spread from Recipes for Change, written by Michael Platt and illustrated by me.

This scene was a joy to illustrate. I had previously illustrated a scene of MLK during the March on Washington, but it was in black and white and the crowd was out of focus. For this illustration, I was able to work in color and add a lot of detail to the crowd! It was a lot of work, but I'm more than happy with how it turned out. I loved looking at the real life photos so that I could make the people and the signs in the illustration accurate.
