2025 Illustration Round Up
It’s time for my 2025 wrap up! There was a lot that happened this year in my illustration world, so here’s a closer look.
- Three picture books were released this year! I had the pleasure of illustrating Oshún and Me by Adiba Nelson, Cooking Up Change by Michael Platt, and Down On the Bayou by Glenda Armand. I am so grateful to work with such amazing authors. I’m extremely grateful to work with the publishing teams too! Shout out to the team at Feiwel & Friends/MacKids (hi Emily, Naomi, Mina, and Sharismar), the team at Magic Cat Publishing (hi Kim), and the team at Crown/Penguin Kids (hi Sonali and Véronique)! And the biggest thank you to my awesome and amazing agent Alex and the Bright Agency!
- I had my first solo storytime and book signing at the Hamilton, NJ Barnes & Noble! I was so touched by the turnout. You can read more about my visit here. A huge thank you once again to Shelby and the team at Hamilton B&N!
- I finished work on Prayer Is by Tameka Fryer Brown and MacKids and Onward We Marched by Erica Martin and Flamingo/Penguin Kids. Prayer Is comes out on January 13 and Onward We Marched comes out later in the year. (Onward We Marched’s cover reveal hasn’t happened yet, but I'll post it once it happens.)
- I finished final art on my debut author-illustrated picture book, O Holy Night: A Modern Christmas Carol, based on an illustration I did back in 2022. The book comes out in Fall 2026 with the kind folks at Bloomsbury Children's.
All in all, a great year. 2026, here we come!
Looking forward,
Alleanna
